The unit based within Leeds PCT is among those affected. It has been presented with a number of options ranging from moving to a social enterprise trust, to moving back to the mental health trust where it was based before it joined the trust.
Other CAMHS units, including the one based at Liverpool PCT, are also affected.
David Cottrell, professor of child and adolescent psychiatry and assistant medical director for child psychiatry at East Leeds PCT, said mental health services faced a difficult time. "For any community services that are provided by a PCT this is concerning, and it may be another year before it is clear what will happen to those services," he said.
