Mum Sally Buxton and her 21-month-old daughter Lucia Robertson met Labour councillor Bob Janes, Derbyshire County Council's lead member for culture, at a Rhythm and Rhyme day to mark the end of the council's Books for Babies month. More than 70 children took part in the day, which gave them a chance to play with all kinds of musical instruments. The month culminated in a concert held in Matlock, led by East Midlands' orchestra Sinfonia Viva. The orchestra has been working with the council for six months on a project to train staff from 120 libraries to bring music and nursery rhymes to life for under-fives.
