Brighton revamps advisory service

Youth Work
Brighton has revised its sexual health services for young people after a mystery-shopping exercise identified shortcomings in existing services.

Morley Street Contraception and Sexual Health Service (CASH), which is run by South Downs Health NHS Trust, has dropped its appointment-based system in favour of drop-in sessions each weekday between 2pm and 7pm and on Saturdays between 10am and 12pm.

It will also now provide more straight-talking literature and swift online referrals to specialist services after feedback from users.

Sue Ward, service manager at Morley Street CASH, said: "It is vital that young people are given good advice on contraception and sexual health in a welcoming and confidential setting."
