"By 2025, disabled people in Britain should have full opportunities and choices to improve their quality of life and will be respected and included as equal members of society" - you can't deny that that's a worthy aim.
But I always want to know how. The report focuses on four areas: independent living for disabled adults, improving support for families with young disabled children, transition to adulthood, and support and incentives for employment. It also frames its suggestions around barriers faced by disabled people. For instance, how do we challenge discriminatory, defeatist or patronising attitudes? It also focuses on the need to empower disabled children and adults.
