BIG INTERVIEW: The path from drugs to crime - Roger Howard, chief executive, Crime Concern

2 mins read

Crime Concern's youth-oriented anti-crime projects include Prudential 4 Youth, which gets young people involved in crime-prevention activities, and Barnet Action 4 Youth, which offers diversionary activities for 11- to 16-year-olds at risk of offending or exclusion from school. The charity also runs 24 youth inclusion programmes, each offering activities, training and careers advice to some of the most at-risk young people in England and Wales.

Crime Concern offers training and advice services to organisations on working to reduce crime. The charity also runs the annual Marks & Spencer British Community Safety Awards, which highlight innovative projects.

Howard's previous role as head of DrugScope should help him in developing Crime Concern. He says: "Drugs, substance misuse, antisocial behaviour and crime are all inextricably linked."
