For the founder and chairwoman of horsesmouth.co.uk, a mentoring web site for young people, there is no contradiction between commercial success and social justice. Rainey, who turns 50 this year, says: "A lot of my generation are driven by social justice values because of opportunities their parents never had."

These are the values behind social enterprise Horsesmouth. "We need to stop having a dystopian view of the web - it is one of the most exciting and liberating phenomena for young people," she enthuses. "There are many ways young people are engaging positively with each other online that are invisible to adults."
