Patricia Lewsley has hit the ground running since becoming Commissioner for Children and Young People in Northern Ireland at the beginning of January, issuing a multitude of statements on her concerns about young people.
She says boosting the profile of the children's commissioner's office through the media is one of her key priorities: "We are trying to tap into different audiences, using web sites and blogs to reach more young people."
Raising the profile of young people in decision-making is also high on her agenda. "I want to ensure all young people's voices are reflected in decision-making in the Government," she says.
