Elm Grove Children's Home may have come out of its 2012 Ofsted with a good rating, but the inspectors had identified gaps in the monitoring arrangements.
While the inspectorate felt that this shortfall did not harm outcomes for the home's residents, it ordered improvements and, in March this year, returned to check on how Elm Grove was getting on.
The inspectors found that in the months since it last visited, there had been "significant progress" in how the home monitored the views of parents and the quality of the care it provided.
"We had good communication with the parents and other stakeholders, but we could have had better recording systems in place and a better way of monitoring," says Claire Morgan, the registered manager at Elm Grove.
