Tudor House's half-timbered facade might conjure up images of the past, but the short breaks service within it is anything but old fashioned.
For a start the "outstanding"-rated home puts young people's voices at the heart of its work. "A big thing here, one that is woven into day-to-day practice, is giving the young people choices," says Clare Brunt, the home's registered manager.
"Those choices might be things like children choosing what clothes they want to wear when they get up in the morning, what activities they want to do or who assists them at meal times or does their personal care at bath times. The children are consistently given choices throughout the day."
