BBC Children in Need Small Grants

Social Care
What is it? The Frank Buttle Trust distributes small grants on behalf of BBC Children in Need to children with social problems who are suffering financial hardship.

Grants are given to children suffering from illness, distress, abuse or neglect, disability, behavioural or psychological problems and severe poverty or deprivation.

How much is on offer? The programme offers cash grants of up to £300 to provide necessities such as clothes, bedding and furniture.

What will it fund? The scheme will only fund items that "are critical to the wellbeing of the child". It does not help with payments of debts or loans, childcare costs, holidays or non-essential items.

Who can apply? Applications should be made by a professional, such as a social worker or health visitor, who is aware of the family's situation.
