Julie Vaggers, head of Rowland Hill Nursery School and Children's Centre in Haringey, north London, said her local authority was looking at putting something in place for all staff.
"We're working towards integrated training days," she said. "It would be good to get people looking at policy and strategy more closely and looking at what things are developing."
The idea was backed by Paul Ennals, chief executive of the National Children's Bureau, at the Early Childhood Forum's Working for Children conference in Birmingham. "It would be good if we could have a continuing professional development programme that brought staff from across the workforce to be trained together.
