Claire considers peer mentoring and the need for a trusted confidante.

I recently had a dose of the Dismal Jimmy's. Life had overtaken logicand I was feeling fed up. I'm normally quite a private person, but itwas one of those times when friends really helped. Having someone totalk to who knew you well, who wouldn't judge became very important.

Then I went to visit my family. Again, the sense of just being able totalk openly and with trust was so precious.

I came away feeling much better.

I was reminded of this last week when we did some work with our group oflooked-after children about what was important in their lives, and whatthey needed to improve their care experience.
