1 min read
Claire is heartbroken at the accounts of children being bullied at school.

Our local council recently sent out anti-bullying packs to more than ahundred schools in the city, in the lead-up to Anti-Bullying Week.

They got positive responses from five. From the others the main replywas "we don't have a problem". Hmmm.

We know looked-after children are more likely to be bullied, and many ofthose we work with suffer. One girl recently bunked off school. When wetalked to her she admitted that she didn't want to go because she wasconstantly being taunted about being in care.

So with this in mind we sent out an anti-bullying pack including aquestionnaire to all our children. As they were returned, aheartbreaking picture began to emerge.Types of bullying included beingpunched, spat on, called names and worse. "It's because I am in awheelchair," one young man responded.
