I try to get the message across that the work of the London Youth Crime Prevention Board (which I currently chair) could be really powerful if we can pilot some practical solutions to youth crime.
I also give a plug to our recent campaign, Bottling It Up, about the effect that alcohol misuse has on families. Good start to the week - Anne seems interested in what I have to say.
Tuesday: I was recently given a signed copy of Wasted by Mark Johnson. I have a look at it on the way to work. It's a story about drug addiction from a very young age, and one that will be familiar to many of Turning Point's service users. There's a lot in the book about his childhood and the causes of his drug use, which is really interesting. Mark took his first hit of heroin aged 11.
