Back Page: My week - Back to prison for important discussions

1 min read
Monday - Thank goodness for a Bank Holiday, time to get straight after spending two weeks in the US. We learned a useful lesson about media hype - never have we checked in with so little delay or fuss, got on and off board so rapidly, or recovered our luggage so easily.

Moreover, all our luggage went with us to California, on the same flight. Heathrow Terminal 5 is seriously brilliant.

Tuesday - Spent most of the day on the phone making work arrangements for the coming weeks. I'm an adviser to the five criminal justice inspectorates, so I arrange to accompany the Inspectorate of Constabulary next week during its inspection of Gloucestershire. Also arrange to attend a seminar with the Crown Prosecution Service inspectorate - should get me up to speed with its methodologies.

Wednesday - To Feltham Young Offender Institution for a meeting with the governor, Cathy Robinson, and some of her senior staff. I'm there on behalf of Youth at Risk, a charity for which I act as an adviser.
