A sad confession from me this week: I, like much of the UK population, will be glued to my TV for the next 12 weeks watching the eighth series of Big Brother.
Howls of derision go up from most of my colleagues at the very mention of how I will be spending my summer evenings. Friends and family know that an invitation to a seasonal BBQ will pale into insignificance against the chance to spend time viewing my new best friends on screen. Even though I forget the housemates the minute they leave the house, I have been known to plan whole evenings around an eviction.
