I remembered the power of storytelling the other day. During a training session a beautiful screensaver popped up showing the stone circles at Stanton Drew in Somerset.
This prompted me to start telling the young woman next to me the myth my father told me during visits there. She immediately interrupted me, saying "Shhh, wait!" Presuming I had bored her, I began to apologise. "No!" she interrupted again: "I'm not bored, I want you to tell all of us."
Twelve young people drew closer to hear the story of how the ring of stones at Stanton Drew got there. Long ago, there was a big wedding attended by the entire village. Everyone ate, drank and danced as musicians played. As the light faded another musician joined them from the shadows.
