Just two weeks of parenting has led me to realise that it is going to be a long, hard and complicated journey - and I'm a 35-year-old married man from a large family, so I have support.

As a society, I believe we do not do enough to deter our teenagers from becoming parents. In fact, we positively encourage it.

What kind of message does the fact that we hand out condoms to children as young as 13 send out? Does it stop more young people getting pregnant, or does it normalise sex in the minds of young people? They might start out using condoms, but the figures would suggest that they don't keep using them.
