Why is such a thing needed? The Ormlie estate was quite a deprived area and has had many problems over the years, including young people feeling excluded because they have nothing to do.

What has the partnership achieved in its first four years? Young people were instrumental in acquiring a play area for the estate. This meant that an area that had a stigma attached to it now attracts young people from elsewhere.

What are the biggest challenges? It was difficult at first to get young people recognised as active citizens and to break down the generation barrier - to get older people to recognise that young people should not just have their say, but that what they're saying is quite important.
