Ask the Expert: Nursery Tidiness

1 min read Early Years

I have recently been appointed to lead a nursery. On first observation it appears very cluttered. I want to make changes, Where should I begin?

Managing change requires a bucketful of skills with tact and diplomacy high on the list, so pick your battles carefully. You need staff to come to your conclusion that the setting is cluttered and that it is limiting opportunities for the children to learn.

Have a staff meeting and talk about how you think the setting should look. Identify your champions and give them an incentive to de-clutter.
