ASBO Concern highlights unreasonable orders

The dossier, produced by ASBO Concern and the National Association of Probation Officers, documents inconsistencies in the use of the orders by local authorities.

Examples include an 18-year-old arrested for attending a Manchester youth club because he had been banned from meeting friends and a 16-year-old who was banned from behaving in an antisocial manner at school after disrupting a science class. The five-year order covered the whole of England and Wales.

Matt Foot, founder of ASBO Concern, said the public mood was now turning against antisocial behaviour policies.
