Arts: UK Youth to stage Romeo and Juliet

Youth work charity UK Youth is bringing together professional performers and young people to stage a musical adaptation of Romeo and Juliet.

While the production will retain the original text and time period, it will also incorporate contemporary music, such as hip-hop, as well as street and break dance.

The professional cast will include Jon Lee, formerly of pop group S Club 7, who will perform alongside young people who have auditioned to be in the show.

The event is being produced in partnership with Medecine Mann Theatre Company and be staged initially at New Players Theatre on 22 January 2009.
