Fairbridge, a charity for inner-city youth that operates in the UK, and the US Children's Aid Society were brought together through funding by banking firm UBS.
Both charities have previously benefited from the company, which wanted to fund an initiative that helped people in both its London and New York bases.
Financial support from UBS enabled the organisations to work with professional musicians in both countries to produce a four-track record called Love and Courage.
Profits from the sale of the record, which has been released this week, will be split between the two charities. Fairbridge offers personal support to 13- to 25-year-olds and the US Children's Aid Society helps young people in care.
