Posters and leaflets bearing photographs of three young people have been distributed around the Brookhouse estate in Eccles. The teenagers featured in the posters are Duane Sandlan, 19, Ben Kirby, 16, and Anthony Silver, 15.
Breaching the orders will be deemed a criminal offence and could carry a maximum penalty of five years' imprisonment. The orders have been secured by Salford's Crime and Disorder Partnership. Three weeks ago, a previously convicted criminal won a high court challenge to stop a police name-and-shame poster scheme in Brentwood, Essex. Under privacy regulations contained in the European Convention on Human Rights, the court found that the individual's family could be stigmatised by the posters.
