Antisocial behaviour: Minister sticks by name and shame

Answering questions from Parliament's Home Affairs Select Committee about a case in Brent, north London, where a violent father was able to track down his named and shamed son, Blears said: "It is not about naming and shaming. Publicity should be decided on a case-by-case basis.

"Those who get orders should know that if they behave antisocially then the community will be informed."

Ministers praised the crime-prevention work of youth inclusion programmes and youth inclusion and support panels, but Blears told the committee there is no funding to significantly expand these schemes.
