At last week's launch of ASBO Concern, which brings together 20 organisations including the National Association of Probation Officers, supporters outlined how a lack of investment in youth services meant more young people were receiving ASBOs.
Matt Foot, the founder of ASBO Concern, said: "The head of the Government's ASBO unit, Louise Casey, said in reply to a Parliamentary question about ASBOs and autism that magistrates would take account of all the evidence around a case, but this is rubbish. About 97 per cent of ASBOs that are applied for are granted."
Tower Hamlets councillor Oliur Rahman, a member of former Labour MP George Galloway's Respect party, added: "My ward was given 56m from the New Deal for Communities but not a single penny has been given to young people."
