The scheme is part of a £15m package to raise the aspirations and achievements of bright children through the City Challenges programme.
Teach First advocates, who will be high-achieving graduates teaching in challenging schools or successful businesspeople, will work with gifted and talented young people and their families. The advocates will help the young people apply to courses at the most demanding universities, and advise pupils about the right university for them.
Pilots will begin in February through the London City Challenges programme and will be expanded into other parts of England in the future.
Today's announcement of £15m comes on top of the £160m announced for the City Challenges programme last year.
