Accreditation: Warwickshire pilots youth award scheme

The Challenge award is being piloted by the county's youth service and offers teenagers aged 13 and above recognition for involvement in youth activities.

Five hundred young people are in the running for the trial round of accreditations.

They have to attend a minimum number of activity sessions and show how their involvement in the activities has enhanced their communication, teamwork and other life skills.

Rob Townsend, youth services manager, said he hoped to extend the award to other councils and get Open College Network recognition.
