Located near The Oval cricket ground, the Triangle Adventure Playgroundhas been running for more than 52 years. It serves an area of highdeprivation and was recently runner-up in London Play's Playground ofthe Year competition.
Jim Clancey, chair of the playground's management committee, said:"Lambeth Council has informed us it wants us gone and will not beextending our lease beyond November next year." He claims the councilwants to extend the neighbouring Archbishop Tenison's School and AshmolePrimary School.
A council spokesman confirmed the plans, but said some land will be usedto improve play facilities, which will be open to the schools and localcommunity.
