2m makeover for acclaimed centre

Youth Work
The award-winning W13 Youth Centre in Ealing, west London, is to undergo a 2m refurbishment from this month.

The centre, on Churchfield Road, received a redevelopment grant from central government last year after a successful bid by Ealing Council.

The money will be spent on remodelling the existing building and adding new facilities including a gym, a sports hall, a recording studio and a training kitchen. Last year, the W13 Youth Centre won the youth work prize at the Children & Young People Now Awards.

Councillor Patricia Walker, cabinet member for children and young people in Ealing, said: "The new centre will be of huge benefit to the wider community."
