New coffee bar for Portishead centre

Youth Work
Portishead Youth Centre in Bristol is planning to install a new youth cafe and coffee bar.

Work on the £35,000 refurbishment is due to begin in the spring. The money will pay for a new youth cafe and coffee bar, which will be styled on a nightclub bar and have mood lighting as well as comfy seating.

The project will be funded partly by a £28,000 grant from Yanley and North Somerset Environmental Company.

Last year, the centre underwent a £250,000 programme of improvements, which included installing a new dance and recording studio.

Portishead Youth Centre senior youth worker Alan Rowe said he hoped the new cafe bar would open up the centre to a wider range of young people.
