Policy into practice: Music

2 mins read
My name is Leo and I'm 14. I am a Year 10 student at a community school in Somerset. I find some lessons, like maths and English, boring.

But I enjoy my GCSE subjects, music and art, as they are fun and I get to do what I enjoy. I can be creative instead of just sitting down and writing in a book.

I play guitar. I started lessons at school in Year 8 but to get more out of them I also had private lessons. I also started drum lessons in the summer holidays. I have these lessons because I feel I get more out of them as it is one-on-one, where I get to pick the songs I want to learn.

Music is very important to me as it lets me express myself and it gives me a challenge and I really enjoy playing in my band and on my own.
