Letters to the Editor: DfE must learn lessons on pandemic education

Gavin Williamson’s promise to supply devices and internet access to all children who need it will be welcomed by parents and teachers who feared that a lack of access to hardware might impact students’ education during lockdown (Plans to support vulnerable children set out as schools close amid third coronavirus lockdown, cypnow.co.uk, 5 January). The government must learn lessons from the first lockdown back in March and work directly with schools and local councils to ensure that the distribution of funding and devices is effective and that children in the most disadvantaged areas receive the much needed support they deserve.
