Keep up the pressure for all children across society

The past few years have been difficult for our young people, and as they deal with the impact of the pandemic, they face even greater challenges.

However, at The Children's Society we'll never cease fighting alongside children, unwavering in our mission to create impactful change on critical issues and deliver on giving young people a brighter future.

The soaring cost of living is one of those challenges and as an organisation we are acutely aware of how young people are bearing the brunt of this ongoing crisis.

For many years we campaigned to make school uniforms affordable and in 2021, legislation was successfully passed for statutory guidance to keep uniform costs down. Schools should have implemented this guidance by September 2022. Despite this, our recent polling of parents showed that while some schools have made positive changes, sadly it was not widespread enough.
