Youth centre reopens after 1.5m revamp

1 min read Youth Work
An inner-city youth centre in London has reopened its doors to young people after receiving 1.5m cash through the government's Myplace scheme.

The New Horizon Youth Centre in the heart of King's Cross will offer specialist support to local young people.

Provision on site will include mental health services, drug and alcohol support and help for victims of physical and sexual abuse.

New Horizon is the second Myplace centre to open in England.

Up to 10 other Myplace projects should be open by the end of this summer, including the Salmon Youth Centre in Bermondsey, Myplace in Chesterfield, and the Shoeburyness Youth Centre in Southend-on-Sea.
