Young people to share epilepsy experiences online

Health
A website has been launched to help young people talk about their experiences of living with epilepsy.
The multimedia website www.youthhealthtalk.org/epilepsy features videos of children talking about their illness and includes topics such as seizures, tests, school, studies and relationships.

Forty-one young people have shared their experiences, which are featured alongside medical information on the condition.

Dr Ann McPherson, adolescent health specialist and medical director of DIPEx, a charity which publishes people's accounts of their illnesses, said: "Learning from others in a similar situation can bring so much hope and encouragement and young people with epilepsy can see they are not alone."

The site will also allow health professionals to have an insight into how young people feel about living with epilepsy.
