Forum for young people with illness

Health
Young people with long-term illnesses can now talk to others about their experiences online.

The Youth Health Talk website's Living Life with Greater Challenges section allows young people to discuss their conditions and get advice from others with the same illness. It also gives health professionals an insight into how young people feel.

The facility, which launched on Monday (29 October), features 31 young people talking about illnesses such as asthma, chronic eczema, epilepsy and diabetes.

Dr Ann McPherson of the division of public health and primary health care at Oxford University who works with the website, said: "Hearing what young people have to say is vital for those working in the health service."
