Young people to advise on Norfolk youth provision

1 min read Youth Work Youth clubs Youth services
The local authority with the fewest number of youth clubs in England is to give young people a say in boosting provision.

Norfolk County Council has given the go-ahead for the creation of seven youth advisory boards (YABs) – one for each district in the county – with the intention they will support new activities for young people and develop new ways of working.

The boards will include organisations responsible for young people, police, health chiefs, county councillors and voluntary groups but much of the emphasis will be on young people to come up with ideas.

Once up and running in the New Year, the boards will be able to bid for a share of £665,000 to commission and steer local youth support and activities.
