Young Londoners defy stereotypes with poster campaign

1 min read Youth Work
Young people in London are challenging negative stereotypes with a poster campaign.

The campaign is part of a project run by the Safer Bromley Partnership with students from the borough's Ravensbourne School. Past and present pupils feature in posters designed by students to show that not all young people behave badly, and they should not be judged by their clothing.

The posters, which appear on high streets across the borough, point out the positive activities young people are involved in such as volunteer youth work and competitive sport.

Ernest Noad, portfolio holder for children and young people at the borough, said: "Young people generally have a natural exuberance, which some can misinterpret as bad behaviour. This campaign is about giving young people a chance to show what they can do."
