Young fathers hold event to mark Youth Work Week

1 min read Youth Work
A Barnardo's group of Newcastle young fathers has organised an event for socially-excluded young people to mark the end of Youth Work Week.

Around 100 socially-excluded young people will attend the event on 7 November in the city's Westgate Sports Centre. They will talk with local MPs, councillors and other key decison makers.

The young fathers who have organised the event are from Barnardo's Newcastle Independence Network, supported by Barnardo's Regional Do Politix team with sponsorship from The Electoral Commission.

The theme of this year's Youth Work Week, spearheaded by the National Youth Agency, was Promoting the Voice and Influence of Young People.

The National Youth Agency has marked Youth Work Week by handing over the writing and production of its weekly spread in Children and Young People Now.
