1 min read Youth Justice
York's youth offending team (YOT) has been praised after the service scored high marks for safeguarding, public protection and re-offending work in a recent inspection.

Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Probation scored safeguarding at 85 per cent against an average for England and Wales of 67 per cent, public protection at 81 per cent against an average of 62 per cent and re-offending at 80 per cent against an average of 69 per cent.

"We found that following the last inspection the management arrangements in York YOT had been strengthened in order to improve the quality of practice and that this investment had proved successful," Alan MacDonald, assistant chief inspector at HMIP said.

"Overall, we consider this a very creditable set of findings and that the prospects for the future are positive."
