YOI prison officer found guilty of misconduct

A prison officer has been found guilty of misconduct in a public office after engaging in a sexual relationship with an 18-year-old being held at Feltham Young Offender Institute.

Emma Beard who is now 31, was caught last December performing a sex act on 18-year-old Danny McLean, who is serving a life sentence for murdering 16-year-old Shakilus Townsend in 2008.

She was found guiity at Isleworth Crown Court on 4 November.

Beard has been bailed to return for sentencing at Isleworth Crown Court on 3 December.
