Amit Kajla claimed she was taunted by staff at Brinsford YOI in Wolverhampton for adapting her uniform to fit her size-four frame.
She also alleged that colleagues complained about the way she interacted with inmates and was warned that her appearance left her at risk of being dragged into a cell.
Kajla resigned in April 2008.
A tribunal, held in July this year, accepted that the treatment of Kajla amounted to unfair dismissal.
A Prison Service spokesman said: "We are disappointed by the tribunal's findings. We will study the findings carefully.
