The Scottish government commissioned education watchdog Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Education to review the Duke of Edinburgh programme at the beginning of the year. Inspectors praised the programme's work with young people with additional support needs including young offenders and young people with mental health issues.
The report called on the organisation to improve its capacity to demonstrate the impacts and outcomes of its work.
Barry Fisher, Duke of Edinburgh director for Scotland, said: "I am particularly delighted that the inspectors have been able to confirm the importance of the programme in developing life and work skills."
