The Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE) is a charity founded by the Duke in 1956 and is dedicated to the personal development of young people from all backgrounds. It claims the widest reach of any UK youth charity, with 275,000 young people undertaking its programmes every year, 30,000 of whom are from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Where is it based?

Its head office is in Windsor where the UK services team is based. This consists of programmes, marketing and information systems teams plus finance and HR. The national fundraising team is in London and the charity has 11 regional offices.
