Two-thirds of UK adults back call for investment in outdoor education

Nearly two-thirds of Brits would back a government-funded nature premium to give children greater access to nature through education, new research shows.

A survey of 2,000 adults by the Nature Premium campaign finds that 74 per cent of those asked believe access to nature at school would improve young people’s quality of life.

The campaign is calling on the government to guarantee that all children will benefit from having access to nature while in education, with additional funding and support made available to improve access for the most disadvantaged children.

Campaigners say a government-funded nature premium would ensure fairness to all children and remove the iniquity of access to nature that became apparent during coronavirus lockdowns.
