Under the scheme local authorities are being asked to put in place a systematic approach to prevention and early intervention for teenagers who may be at risk, so they can get the support they need before problems escalate.
Speaking as the Youth Taskforce published its progress report today (18 June), Dawn Primarolo said the vast majority of authorities had reported that their targeted youth support reforms had been put in place.
She said: "Ninety-five per cent of local authorities are committed to taking this work forward. In joining the Department for Children, Schools and Families as a new minister, I am proud to be associated with your work, but I know there is a lot to do."
