Tackling CSE - vital insights and effective practice

1 min read
The Newcastle Sexual Exploitation Hub, the multi-agency team that helped victims and gathered evidence leading to the conviction this summer of 18 members of a child sex abuse ring in the city, will share its learnings at the Tackling CSE conference on 6th December.

This one-day conference in central London will also enable safeguarding professionals to:

• Gain an up-to-date expert overview of the key issues: current prevalence; different forms CSE can take; and strategic and operational responses
• Learn how the Centre for Expertise on Child Sexual Abuse can support your work on CSE
• Understand the linguistic strategies that online groomers use to sexually abuse children
• Gain useful tips on engaging effectively with parents and carers
• Employ strategies for working with CSE victims within their communities and challenging perceptions of CSE victims as ‘trouble makers'
• Learn about participation methods used for young people affected by sexual exploitation
• Understand and respond to the particular risks that face boys
• Learn about the role that statutory relationships and sex education can play in combating and preventing CSE
