The service aims to give intensive training to child abuse prevention charities, including those working in schools, in the community, offering parent support and running self-defence sessions.

Being launched by global charity Spring Impact it has been funded by the Oak Foundation and is offering charities two tiers of support.

This includes tailored support “for a select group of NGOs” being offered by child sexual abuse experts for three years. Issues covered include lobbying government, forming partnerships with other child protection organisations, “or using a different approach” to tackling child sexual abuse, said Spring Impact.

The second is a six-month training programme aimed at training two senior members of charities “in the skills, knowledge, and frameworks needed” to improve their work combating abuse.
