SEND campaigners call for investigation over resignation of Dorset DCS

A campaign group for children with special education needs and disabilities (SEND) is calling for an investigation into the resignation of Dorset Council’s director of children’s services (DCS) less than a year into the job.

Dorset Parents Campaign Group for SEND Children was due to stage a protest today outside the council’s offices over the departure of Sarah Parker last week.

Parker, who took up the role of DCS in January, left the authority on Friday after an announcement that she would no longer be in post by the end of December.

In addition to its protest, the group said a question about Parker’s departure had been tabled at the cabinet meeting on Tuesday by Liberal Democrat opposition leader Nick Ireland.

“Once again councillor Nick Ireland is listening to our group’s concerns regarding the resignation of Sarah Parker.
